With more than 100 pupils from Dubai schools present, the Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany, Guenter Rauer, and Ms Naila Al Mansoory opened the 3rd edition of the popular Science Film Festival on Monday, 10 October 2016 at Children's City Dubai.
Children’s City hosts for the third time the Science Film Festival in a new cooperation with Nutty Scientists.
The festival programs will take place from 10 to 12 October 2016 with Science-Shows, workshops and activities for students and regular Children’s City visitors.
The Science Film Festival presents in Dubai a selection of 7 international films focused especially on this year’s theme MATERIAL SCIENCE.
As in previous years, the German International School in Sharjah and the German International School in Dubai organized a joint event themed "Reunification of Germany". Both classes of year 9, together with their history teachers, prepared a "television broadcast" performing the "Monday demonstrations", the "fall of the Berlin wall" as well as other events of November 1989.

Germany’s OSCE Chairmanship in 2016 – “Renewing dialogue, rebuilding trust, restoring security”
On 1 January 2016 Germany has assumed the Chairmanship of the Organization for Security and Co‑operation in Europe (OSCE) and is therefore be responsible for steering the Organization safely through the stormy tides of crises and challenges in 2016. Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier has presented the details of the Chairmanship’s programme to the 57 OSCE participating States in Vienna on 14 January 2016.
