Welcome to Germany!
In Germany, the "Land of Ideas", we place major emphasis on education, science, research and development. This makes Germany one of the most popular countries in which to study, as well as a site for state-of-the art research and patent development. With its high quality of life, good infrastructure and central location in Europe, Germany is one of the world's most attractive bases for business. Its beautiful urban and rural landscapes, combining age-old traditions and experimental modern culture, make a trip to Germany a unique experience.

Innovation and Excellence
The current issue of .de – Magazin Deutschland takes a look into the future by examining tomorrow’s research and technology trends. In an exclusive feature on “Innovation and Excellence” four Nobel laureates from Germany outline what research can achieve in the future. The magazine also spotlights six research areas – environmental technology, medical technology, mechanical engineering, bionics, vehicle technology and nanotechnology – in which Germany leads the world.
The latest issue of .de also includes interviews with Federal Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle and the German ambassador to the United Nations, Peter Wittig, about Germany’s role in the EU and as a global partner.
Young Germany
Reading is a favored pastime in Germany, whether magazines, newspapers or books. Nine Germans have won the Nobel Prize in literature, meaning that German literature is read in translation well beyond German-speaking countries. Germany’s growing diversity is also transforming the literary landscape as young authors from varied cultural backgrounds find their voice. Travel with Young Germany through the world of literature to learn more, as well as how new authors are getting their start through digital self-publishing platforms and innovative social media.
