Other than repeatedly reported incorrectly by Emirati media the requirement for Emirati nationals for a visa to travel to the Schengen area has not been waived. These persons still have to apply for a visa for such travels.

In the late evening hours of December 23rd, 2013 several German nationals arrived on a British evacuation flight from South Sudan in Dubai. They were received and taken care of by Bernd Kaiser, a colleague from the German Consulate General in Dubai.

0n 19 December 2013, in the presence of the General Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany the Sharaf Group and the German International School Dubai (DISD) ceremoniously signed the contract to realise the new building of the school. The Sharaf Group, that has been closely associated with the German Community of the UAE for 30 years, is herewith enabling the DISD to construct a modern, sustainable building in Academic City, planned according to German standards. The site was made available to the DISD by the government of Dubai.
On 5th December 2013, German Consul General Klaus Ranner paid a visit to the Ras Al Khaimah Investment Authority (RAKIA), where he was received by its Managing Director Peter-Michael Schuster and Fatima-Zohra Sindibad, its Head of Business Development. He was presented with a thorough overview of RAKIA’s activities, in which several German companies are included.
