Advent and Christmas in Germany - a very special time of the year
The season of Advent is something very special in Germany, a time when people look forward to Christmas Eve on 24 December, when Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus. The festive atmosphere, the decorated Christmas trees, the presents carefully arranged underneath and many other traditional customs are part and parcel of German culture.
The Consulate General is urgently drawing your attention to the fact that contrary to some articles in local media Emirati nationals are still and until further notice required to apply for a visa, when they want to travel to Schengen countries *including **Germany*. If an Emirati national arrives at a border checkpoint of the Schengen countries *including **Germany* without a valid visa she/he is running the risk of being immediately returned.
